Editorial Policy — Towerblock Radio Heritage Archive

Core standard

This is a cultural archive, not a fictional storytelling experience. We never invent dates, frequencies, locations, quotes, biographies, station founders, affiliations, achievements, historical events, legal claims, relationships between people, statistics or impact claims. Every substantive historical claim must support a source or editorial-verification field.

Sources

Sources are stored as linked records so one correction or rights decision can propagate through every related page. We prioritise primary documentation, original artefacts, peer-reviewed academic research and reputable contemporary journalism over retrospective fan accounts or social media claims.

Oral history and testimony

Oral histories may contain personal recollections that differ from independently verified history. They are presented as recollections rather than settled fact, clearly distinguished from editorial content. The archive records whether a claim was witnessed first-hand or heard from others.

Sensitive locations

We never publish precise transmitter locations, private residential studio addresses or personal addresses unless already responsibly documented in a public source and approved for publication. We use borough or neighbourhood precision for historic locations.

Privacy

Living people have rights of privacy. We do not publish allegations, sensitive personal information or material about private individuals without a clear editorial justification.

Corrections

Every public record includes a 'Correct this entry' action. We log requests, preserve the original version, assess evidence, publish the decision and record material changes. Disagreement is not automatically error: where credible accounts conflict, we display the disagreement and source each version.

Copyright and rights

We do not assume old recordings, logos, flyers or photographs are free to use. Every asset records creator, contributor, owner, source, permission status, licence and an internal takedown contact. We publish excerpts only after a documented rights decision.
