Grant Acceptance Policy

Purpose

This policy sets out the criteria and process for accepting grant funding, ensuring that Towerblock Radio CIC only accepts grants that align with its mission, values and capacity.

Scope

This policy applies to all offers of grant funding and awards made to Towerblock Radio CIC.

Definitions

• Grant offer means a formal written offer of funding from a funder.
• Restricted funds means funding that must be used only for the purpose specified.

Responsibilities

The board reviews and approves all grant offers. The Finance Lead reviews financial terms. The project lead reviews delivery capacity.

Policy Statement

Towerblock Radio CIC accepts grant funding that supports its mission, aligns with its values, and can be delivered within agreed terms. No grant shall be accepted where it would compromise the independence, integrity or reputation of the organisation.

Detailed Procedures

Criteria for acceptance

A grant offer may be accepted where it aligns with the mission and strategic objectives, the organisation has the capacity to deliver, the financial terms are viable, the funder's reporting requirements can be met, and the grant does not impose conditions that compromise editorial independence.

Review process

1. The Finance Lead reviews the financial terms and conditions.
2. The project lead reviews delivery capacity and timeline.
3. The board reviews the recommendation and makes a decision.
4. The decision is recorded in the board minutes.

Conditions that may lead to rejection

A grant may be declined where the funder requires content control, the funder's activities conflict with Towerblock Radio CIC's values, the organisation cannot meet delivery or reporting requirements, or acceptance would create a conflict of interest.

Reporting Process

All grant acceptance decisions are recorded in the board minutes and reported in the annual report.
